Francesco Verginelli Tenor " The hibiscus soundhole is a drawing by Eric DeVine and the uke is inspired by his masterpiece.
Thanks to Mr. Eric DeVine." F V
In being on the look out for nice Ukuleles I see the work of a number of full and part time luthiers. The instruments they make look very nice and worthy of note.
From Rome, Italy he makes mainly Guitars but has now added Ukuleles to his catalogue. On the website it shows only Tenors but it talks about all the main scale lengths including a Sopranino
based in Lincolnshire, UK, he has been in business since 2001 and he produces a full range of instruments including Guitars, Mandolins and Banjos as well as Ukuleles in all scales from Sopranino to Baritone in Basic or Deluxe finishes.
Based in Yorkshire, UK he started out making Biscuit Tin Banjoleles, (he's British so they are biscuit tins not cookie tins), hence the Tin Guitars name, in 1996. He now makes ordinary wooden Ukuleles too, both acoustic and electric but there are still biscuit tin and cigar box instruments in the catalogue. Since 2010 he has been a full time luthier and has a standard range of Soprano, Concert and Tenor Ukuleles including a Soprano specially designed to meet any airline hand luggage requirements, plus he does custom commissions too
