Rukavina Electric Tenor Ukulele
Rukavina Electric Tenor
In being on the look out for nice Ukuleles I see the work of a number of full and part time luthiers. The instruments they make look very nice and worthy of note.

Beau Hannam - Beau Hannam Guitars

Originally from Australia he learned luthiery working for a firm called Gilet Guitars in Sydney in the mid 2000's. He went on to start his own Guitar making operation in Australia but has since moved on to live and work in Grand Junction, Colorado. He still makes Guitars but he now does more Ukulele building. He shows examples of Soprano, Concert and Tenor Ukuleles on his website and will do Baritones, Pineapples, Selmar style archtops, Lili'us, Taropatches, even Harp Ukuleles. Though he does build on spec for shops, he says all of his instruments are one off custom jobs

Ryan Rukavina - Rukavina Guitars

From Montana, he specialises in solid and semi hollow lap steel Guitars, but he also make ordinary electric Guitars and some electric Ukuleles, (all the ones I have seen have been Telecaster shaped Tenors). He trained at the Venn school of Luthiery graduated in 1996 and started his own business in 1999.

Tommy Rodriguez - Rodriguez Guitars

Based in Richmond, Virginia, he started out building electric Guitars in 1986 but became more interested in nylon strung classical and flamenco Guitars whilst working and an instrument repairer. In 1995 he started out on his own as a Guitar maker and in 2013 decided to have a go at making some soprano Ukuleles and adding them as an option in his catalogue
