In being on the look out for nice Ukuleles I see the work of a number of full and part time luthiers. The instruments they make look very nice and worthy of note.
From Waterford, Wisconsin, he started out as a wood carver, (something he still does as well), and moved on to making Ukuleles in 2011. He is largely self taught but his history of working with wood has helped him, especially with the inlay work he does on some of the instruments and fretboards. He mainly makes Tenor scale Ukuleles either as custom orders or as standard items for sale but he can make Sopranos and Concerts as well

From Belmont Massachusetts USA he is a full time luthier of over 30 years experience and has made a few Ukuleles, but more famous for making Ouds and other folk instruments (he won an award for this in 2001). He also runs a music shop in Belmont called Unique Strings where he takes commissions
