Kremona made Hopf Tenor Ukulele
Hopf Tenor
There are a number of European importers and retailers who have a range of Ukuleles they import, usually from China, and then brand with their own name. They are usually better than the budget end, (though may include a budget end model) and some can be quite good quality

Founded in 1995 and based in the UK they started out distributing "British Designed"(?) Guitars but have since added Mandolins and Ukuleles to the range. Currently the Ukulele come as Soprano, Concert or Tenor scale in a number of laminate veneers plus wooden and plastic, (Concert scale and made by Lanyao), colourful budget ranges. In the past they have included Baritone models in their catalogue and some electric guitar homage models that look very similar to the K-Wave ones from Japan. I know the brand is currently distributed by Barnes & Mullins but I'm not sure if they still are, or ever were indipendant?

Hopf is a German instrument maker that has been around for hundreds of years first as a Violin maker founded in 1669 and later introducing other instruments. there appears to have been all of the relocation issues to escape the iron curtain post WWII and they were another of those German electric Guitar makers of the 1950's and 60's who made a number of interesting looking Archtops, like Hofner and Hoyer. Tiki King says they made Ukuleles in this period too, but I haven't seen any and they appear to have disappeared in the last quarter of the 20th century. I am a bit vague on the history here as the information I have found is quite vague, (and translations engines can be tricky). I am a little vague on the current situation too, (again translation engines), from what I understand Hopf is back in business - if they ever actually went out of business - under a Dieter Hopf who says he is a direct descendant of the original founder, Caspar Hopf, (maybe, but particularly when you look at the Violin part of the history there have been a lot of branches since then?). He doesn't appear to do Violins any more and mainly sells Classical Guitars and Mandolins (I say sells because though I believe he trained as a luthier it is unclear how many of the Current Hopf branded instruments he makes; if any). I have seen a Tenor Ukulele in his current (2014) catalogue though from the look of it I'm fairly sure it was made by Kremona

A Ukulele club from Moseley, Birmingham, UK who in 2013 decided to import a batch of Ukuleles to sell to its members and this enterprise went so well they have expanded to import and sell Bamboo Soprano, Concert and Tenor Ukuleles, (along with gigbags, tee-shirts and other bits and pieces), to the general public under the branding of Moselele Bambookulele, (I believe the first batch were not Bamboo and so not Bambookuleles)
