There are a number of European importers and retailers who have a range of Ukuleles they import, usually from China, and then brand with their own name. They are usually better than the budget end, (though may include a budget end model) and some can be quite good quality

Eastcoast - Rocket

Eastcoast is the House brand for the PMT (Professional Music Technology) chain of UK music stores, and Rocket is the house brand for Normans Musical Instruments, another chain of UK music stores. They both have a large online reselling presence and they both use their brand names on instruments they acquired from Stagg. From the website(s) it appears they often miss out their rebrand and sell with the Stagg logo still on(?) but there are some Ukuleles around with their own logos on the headstock or in the sound hole instead
Ridgewood is another redistributor of Stagg Ukuleles in a similar vein, but I don't know who is behind this rebranding?


This is a UK importer who distributes across Europe They have budget selection of Sopranos plus some higher quality Sopranos, Concerts, Tenors and Baritones they call their "Tonewood Series". These have laminate mahogany back and sides plus a solid spruce or mahogany top. The range use to include koa tops too, but this was discontinued in 2012. In 2014 they added Bass Ukuleles to the range and their branding of Lanyao's ABS Concert which they called the Explore
