Hand Bass (fretless)
In being on the look out for nice Ukuleles I see the work of a number of full and part time luthiers. The instruments they make look very nice and worthy of note.

Hand Bass

From St Petersburg, Russia and and starting in 2004, he specialises in making electro-acoustic Basses. in 2013 he has added a fretless Bass Ukulele he calls the "Hobbit Bass" to the catalogue. The web site is in russian and I have no information beyond this.

John Degay

From Bexhill, UK he has been making instruments since the early 1980's and use to work with Tony Zemaitis. His output is mainly Guitars, but he does do other chordophones to like Mandolins and a distinctive Soprano Ukulele with a heart shaped sound hole.

Martin Cole

From Cornwall, UK, he makes a large selection of instruments including Ukuleles of all scales as well as Guitars, usually as commissions. He has been making instruments since the mid 1960's
