Stoll Doublecut Electro-Acoustic Concert Ukulele
Stoll Doublecut Concert
Throughout the world there are small manufacturing firms, maybe a luthier who has expanded the operation and taken on some staff, maybe a number of craftsmen who have got together in some form of co-operative. However it started these manufacturers usually make very high quality instruments even if the Ukulele is not the firms main output

Marleaux BassGuitars

Founded by Gerald Marleaux in 1990 and based in Clauthal-Zellerfeld, Germany, this firm specialises in Bass Guitars only. From its one man beginnings it has now expanded and employs a number of other luthiers. They still only make Basses but in 2012 they introduced a "Soprano Bass" (oxymoron?), a very short scale Bass that is slightly bigger than a Baritone scale (22½ in - 57cm) but nevertheless much closer to it that even a standard Guitar, and clearly inspired by the Bass Ukuleles

Stevens Guitars

They are a small, (I believe 2 man?), Munich, Germany, Guitar maker founded in 1993. As well as Guitars they make Mandolins and in 2011 a couple of Ukulele models, a usually steel strung Concert and a (fretted or fretless), steel strung Bass Baritone. The special steel wound strings they have developed for this in conjunction with Pyramid Strings are very interesting because they are a lot thinner than the usual Bass Ukulele strings and it appears they are becoming popular for use on other makers Bass Ukuleles too In 2014 they exhibited a custom Soprano and Tenor Ukulele, but these scale don't appear in the regular catalogue.

Stoll Guitars

Christian Stoll, the founder and main man behind Stoll Guitars learned the art of Luthiery at Hopf Guitars in 1978. He then went on to found his own firm in 1983 firstly making electric Guitars then branching out to acoustic Guitars and other instruments. In 2012 a mahogany Concert Ukulele was added to the catalogue and these days the firm, based in Waldems, Hesse, Germany, has expanded to employ 2 other luthiers and a trainee.
