There are a number of North American importers and retailers who have a range of Ukuleles they import, usually from China, and then brand with their own name. They are usually better than the budget end, (though may include a budget end model) and some can be quite good quality.

Amati Fine Instruments

Founded in 1991 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Amati's Fine Instruments started as a Violin Supplier. Over the years they have added other instruments and in 2012 added Soprano and Concert Ukuleles branded Amahi to the catalogue. The range has been added to and now includes Tenors and Baritones, (plus in 2015 they added a Uke Bass). They do three levels of Ukulele, the student, the intermediate and the step up, in a number of woods and the step up being solid woods In 2015 they introduced a range of solid colour budget Soprano they brand Penguin but there were some even more colourful budget Sopranos branded Amati already.

Mitchell

Founded in 1986 in Thousand Oaks, California as a Guitar reseller, the catalogue has, since 2009, featured a range of Concert Ukuleles in laminate woods, including an electric/acoustic cutaway option. in addition to these there is a laminate spruce and rosewood Baritone Ukulele too. In 2015 they introduced a range of natural and colourful budget Sopranos

Talina

Ukulele World - a big online shop based in Texas's own brand chosen for looking at the various Chinese factories output, so the model can vary a great deal but some of the better ones are made by Samwill and the Hawaii one is made by Nanjing Aileen
