In being on the look out for nice Ukuleles I see the work of a number of full and part time luthiers. The instruments they make look very nice and worthy of note.
From Seattle, Washington State, he has been making Ukuleles and other instruments since 2010 and is largely self taught. He makes all scales of Ukulele from Soprano to Baritone, though Tenor is the most common option, and will do extra string options should he be asked. He prefers to build on commision but will build on spec if he has no orders to fulfil. He rarely puts on fret markers and a curved triangle shape is quite a common theme on the Ukulele along with his three cedar trees headstock logo
He is primarily a Violin maker based in Lincoln, Nebraska but he has made a few archtop Ukuleles too. He started learning the trade in the late 1980's and studied under a number of other luthiers before starting out on his own as a Violin maker and repairer. I have only seen Sopranos and Concerts from him and only archtops but he works mainly on commissions for his Ukuleles and I believe would take orders for other scales
From Grand Haven, Michigan he is a fairly prolific hobby builder, (and blogger), of mostly Mandolins. His range does include a Concert scale Ukulele he calls the Gettolele and he has made some of these for sale in the past
