Edmund (Nice) Baccani
Originally from the Philippines where he learned luthiery, he started out in Hawaii as the luthier behind the D&D brand, (D&D stands for Daniel and Doris who ran a Ukulele shop in Lahaina, Maui). This apparently started in 1995 and they appear to have stopped production in 2009? I believe Edmund then went on to make Ukuleles just branded with his own nickname. I have seen some similar looking Ukuleles dating from 2009 but branded as Nice Ukuleles
He was born on O'ahu but now lives on the Big Island. he learned to build Ukuleles some time after 2000 and sell his instruments through some of the Volcano Arts Centers. He also teaches playing the Ukulele at them
This is an organisation of Hawaiian luthiers usually based on the Big Island and sometimes very prestigious. Some of the members I have mentioned elsewhere in the database but there are a few that I have found no other reference to. This list of luthiers includes:-
